The O’Dell/Veysey family is saddened to announce the passing of Marguerite “Marg” Elizabeth O’Dell (nee Veysey) of Bloomfield, Kings County, NB.
Marguerite passed away in her sleep on the morning of Saturday, June 11, at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton, NB, at the age of 84, in the company of members of her family.
Marguerite spent her final years at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton, NB. A place her mother also spent her last years at. This is a place where the staff knows your favourite radio station and that you like butterscotch pudding for a bedtime snack. A place that those that have experienced difficult times, help guide family members in what to do and what might be expected. Thank you to those staff for your kindness, compassion, and care for Marguerite.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Marg was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Arthur O’Dell; sister, Noreen; brother, Arthur; grandson, Jaron O’Dell. The second of eight children, she is survived by her three children, Sean O’Dell, Nanci O’Dell (Powers) and Kym Veysey; her grandchildren, Murray, Breanne, and Kate; as well as Helen, Vernon, George, Douglas, and Maryanna.
Marg lived a full life, growing up in the pastoral community of Bloomfield before a chance meeting with, and later, marriage to, her childhood sweetheart, Stanley in the bustling metropolis of Toronto, ON. The two sweethearts retired in Saint John, NB before Stan’s passing in November of 2003.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at The Anglican Parish of Central Kings, Christ Church in Bloomfield beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date.
