It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susan Eileen Foster announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Cumberland Bay, New Brunswick on August 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Artheretta (Branscombe) MacIntosh.
Eileen was a woman of many talents. She could do anything from making a cake shaped like a baseball glove to playing guitar. She loved to learn new skills and share her talents with her family and friends. Eileen was also a proud member of Branch 22 – Bayview Legion.
She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Foster; daughter, Susan Shaw (Tyler); granddaughter; Abbie Shaw; sister, Carol Chambers (Jim); brother-in-law Bill Sheppard and sister-in-law Carol Maher.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth MacIntosh, Angus MacIntosh, John MacIntosh, and Harry MacIntosh; and her sisters Hilda Hill and Norma Sheppard.
Eileen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff of 4A North and the Palliative care unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, as well as a special thank you to Dr. MacKin and Dr. Scott for their excellent care and compassion shown to Eileen and her family during her illness.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held from the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 12 PM with burial to take place at Cedar Hill Extension following a short reception.
