Obituary of Walter Reid Glover
Walter Reid Glover of Saint John, husband of Dawn R. (Haggerty) Glover, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Dalhousie Junction on January 9, 1938, he was a son of the late O.B and Thelma (Campbell) Glover. Walter was a school teacher who began teaching in Northern New Brunswick, but taught most of his career at Saint John High School. Walter and Dawn enjoyed traveling across Canada and the United States, being members of the Twin Seas and Fundy Drifters Trailer Club. For the past several years, they also spent time in Barbados, and in his spare time Walter enjoyed reading and completing Sudoko puzzles.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, Walter is survived by a daughter, Heather Saulnier (Eric) of Pocologan; a grandson, David Hills (Jody Sheldrick) of Saint John; a great grandson, Aidan Hills; a sister, Marilyn Andrew of Riverview; a brother-in-law, David Haggerty of Haggerty’s Cove; nephews Craig Andrew and Chris Haggerty; niece Patti Haggerty; and grand nephews Caelan and Jeffrey.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 2 – 6 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11:30 AM from Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
