Obituary of George Donald Williamson
With sadness, we announce the death of George Donald Williamson, which occurred on August 3, 2013 at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing in South Bay.
Don was born March 21, 1919 at Brown's Flat, N.B., the son of the late Leonard and Hazel (Johnson) Williamson. He was the husband of Kathleen Marie (Birmingham) Williamson for 71 years. He lived and worked in N.B. and Massachusetts, except during his time in the service.
Don served in the RCAF from 1940-1945. He became a pilot and flying instructor with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, the largest air force training program in history. He was very proud of his service record.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his sister, Jean Cull, his three children, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2 PM at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home Chapel, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425 ; www.brenansfh.com). Interment will follow at Wesley United Church cemetery in Brown's Flat. As per Don's request, there will be no visitation.
