Retired Sergeant John Wilcox
John Richardson had tremendous leadership skills, well beyond that of the highest of formal rank structure…His empathy, values of loyalty, honour and integrity were far above normal, in regards to looking after his officers…. His brothers and sisters….. He would literally go through the wall to protect them….
He displayed that over and over again, as President of of the Saint John Policemen's Protective Association. Much love and respect for John. Condolences to his family and SJPF

Dear Robin, Ryan and Mark,
Hi guy, I am sad to hear about your dad’s passing. I’m thinking about you during this heartbreaking time. I could never forget your dad, my uncle, for my childhoods funnest & favorite times were on the boat for weeks at a time with you and he. I have spoken of those times a billion times thru my life about my young years. Your dad looking back as an adult now had unbelievable patience to take us all for a week on the boat with him tones of times during summers. They were the funnest days ever! Crystal beach, Grand Lake, Douglas Harbour were just some of the places I remember fondly.
I still remember 2 of the most terrifying times on it, my first leach experience in the rowboat screeching and Thank gawd I’ve never had one stuck to me since, and a experience like the exorcist with some lady Marilyn we were with your mom ask your mom about it haha, she was nuts! I still remember her name hahaha!
I’m sending each of you a huge hug and know that I’m thinking of you all.
Love you , big Hugs, Love, Julie xoxo

We are so very sorry to hear of John's passing. I knew him through the labour movement as a passionate advocate for our city's police officers and as a tireless defender of all trade unionists and their families. John was always there for everybody. Our city and its labour movement have lost a great champion.

Dear Robyn, I am deeply saddened to know your father has passed away. I was happy for updates on your dad while having my hair cut. I did run into your dad at a gas station. His greeting to me was funny after all the years of not seeing one another. Being past union leaders, we travelled for years with the same circle of friends. Your dad had a big heart and was always working for the betterment of workers. You and your brothers were the world to him. He loved you all very much. Offering my sincere condolences to you, your siblings, family and friends. I suspect your dad and Stevie P are causing a commotion up in heaven. Rest in peace John. God bless you all. Val Parks

John was a friend. Saddened to hear of his passing. We had an adventure where we transported A horse from the exhibition ground stables to my parents on the Miramichi. This was a horse that he arranged for us to use. That was a long time ago. Rest easy, my friend.

Sorry to hear of John passing. He was a good policeman and always made it a point to have a conversation with me when he saw me. One occasion he brought me a moose steak from his hunt when I was doing extra duty at a hockey game and I had no idea he was going to do that. John cared about all the police officers on the Saint John Police Force and earnestly served them well on the union executive.

Sorry to hear of John’s death . I dealt with him for many years when he was a Police Officer as I started my career in 1976 as a young lawyer and had a busy criminal law practice in those days . Both as a duty counsel lawyer and on the legal aid panel in those years and often dealt with John .. He was very well respected in the legal community , and was great to deal with . My condolences to his family and friends ,
