Obituary of Valerie Joyce Pitre

It is with great sadness the family of Valerie Joyce Pitre (Wilkins) announces her peaceful passing on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home with her family by her side. Born in Saint John, NB on the 1st of January 1950, to the late Raleigh and Alberta Wilkins.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Raymond of 59 years; children, Raymond Jr (Jane) Pitre of Chester, NS, Vicky (Peter) Hobart of Grandbay-Westfield, NB; 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Scott) Worden, Cody (Kyla) Hobart, Christopher (Melanie) Hobart, Alexis (Daniel) Pitre, Chantel (Jordan) Pitre; 5 great grandchildren, Adalyn Worden, Lucas Worden, Haisley Hobart, Elsie Hobart, Harrison Hobart; brothers, David (Margo) Wilkins, Leonard (Joan) Wilkins, Stephen (Judy) Wilkins; sisters, Diane Doucette, Sis (Eugene) Vidito; sisters-in-law, Susie Wilkins, Jane Byers, Dot (Roy) Watts and Colleen Wilkins; brother-in-law, John Craft.

Besides her parents, Valerie was predeceased by her children, Cindy and Christopher Pitre; sister, Joan Craft; brothers, Raleigh and Douglas Wilkins; sister-in-law, Betty Skeats and Anne Simpson; brother-in-law, Sonny Byers, Gilbert and Dennis Pitre and Jimmy Doucette.

Valerie is fondly remembered as a kind loving lady who always enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Fishing and taking long drives to grab an ice cream with her husband Raymond. Valerie also embraced having a social beverage with her family and friends, her choice was a cold Alpine.

The family would like to thank the amazing team at Church of St John & St Stephen Home located in Milledgeville, their incredible care and kindness provided to Valerie, family and friends was no less than exceptional. We would also like to thank Dr Le for his professionalism and exceptional care that he provided Valerie over the years. 

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will take place from The Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
