Aside from class reunions (RCS 1968) which Jim attended, we didn't cross paths frequently. That said, when we did Jim was the same Jim I remembered from before. Jim was always upbeat, funny, and showed a genuine concern for the wellbeing of others.
RIP, Jim

Oh, Jim. What can I say? You were the life of the party and everyone loved you. What would we have done without your jokes? All first liners written in your cigarette package. You made such an incredible appearance to make it to Debbie’s for a reunion with Dave. How special was that❤️. Rest well my friend. Find Stephen in heaven and start all over again.. your friends will miss you. Love you, Jim. RIP

This is such a sad time for everyone that knew and loved Jim. Our friendship spanned 55 years and included wonderful times in Rothesay, Toronto, and even Edmonton. I couldn’t ask or hope for a better friend. We shared so many experiences and good times. Jim will be well remembered for his humour and musical talents but beyond that, for me, he was the most sincere, sensible and caring person I have ever met. Jim never said a bad word about anyone or anything and had the rare ability to find something positive in every person and situation, without fail. During the tribulations in my life, Jim was the constant that I could always count on for understanding and encouragement. Rest well Jim. You have left an indelible mark on everyone who had the honour of knowing you and we’re all better people for having had you in our lives

It is so sad to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a sincere, kind and funny guy. When I first arrived in Rothesay, he made sure to make me feel welcomed. He entertained us on his guitar with his hilarious self written songs. We would laugh until we cried. Jim and Keltie were great friends and always eager to go sailing. Many trips up the Kennebecasis with lots of rum and beer! Jim had a wonderful relationship with Keltie as they shared the same sense of humour. Later both Jim and Keltie flew out to B.C. where Jim was the best man at our wedding. When visiting back in Rothesay, we always connected and Jim also shared a new joke! Rest well Jim. We will sure miss you. ❤️

We have many great memories of Jim. I remember Jim growing up in Saint John and later during the time he lived in Rothesay. He had a great sense of humour and a friendly outgoing personality. He was always interested in having a good conversation any time we would see each other. We would like to express our sincere condolences to Bill, Stephen, Charlotte and all family members.

My late mother (Helen Leger-Bernier) worked for Dr. Gibbon's family as a housekeeper and caregiver for the children. I remember her speaking of going to Red Head during the summer to the summer home. She mentioned Charlotte as one of the children but not James as he came after she was married and had her own family. So on behalf of myself and my late Mother, our sincerest condolences to the Gibbon family.

Was so sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing. I have so many memories of him along with the Rothesay crowd. He always had us laughing with his many jokes. Also remember fun nights at the skating rink as teenagers. He was always one of the guys. This pic was from NYE ‘74 at the Mulvany home. We all wanted to jazz it up so we all dressed up that night. Great memories Jimmy RIP

Jim was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor, always ready with a quick joke. I'm proud to say Jim was a great friend of mine. We had many adventures and good times for more than 45 years. My wife Debbie (Spencer) was also a great friend of Jim's starting way back in the early seventies. We will miss him dearly.
