Celebration of Life

Obituary of Jean Margaret Kenney
A memorial service will be held for Jean on 10 March 2025 in New Brunswick to celebrate her life.
To ensure her many friends in Ontario and her family in the UK can participate the service will include an online option for those unable to attend in person.
Jean passed away on 19 January after a brave battle with cancer, which she faced with grace and resilience since her diagnosis in early 2023. Despite receiving exceptional care, her treatments were ultimately unsuccessful. Jean's funeral was held in Toronto on 23 January. Jean’s ashes will rest alongside her beloved daughter, Georgina, in New Brunswick.
Jean was a loving wife, a fiercely protective and loving "Mama Bear" to her two sons, and a cherished mother-in-law to their wonderful spouses. She was also a deeply adored "Gamma" to her four grandchildren, including her newest grandchild, who was welcomed into the world in December.
Jean was born into a warm and loving family from Liverpool and spent her early years in Suffolk. Jean shared a close bond with her two fabulous sisters, who visited her in November to say their heartfelt goodbyes.
Jean had a distinguished career in pharmacy, earning her qualifications in the UK and becoming a registered pharmacist in the UK, the US, and Canada. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for her family and friends.
Jean’s family kindly requests donations to be made in her memory to CureSMA (cureSMA.ca), an organization close to their hearts.
Jean brought laughter, love, and light into the lives of all who knew her.
While we will miss her dearly, she wished for us to carry on with joy, laughter, and fond memories of her.
It takes but a moment to say hello, but forever to say goodbye
