Obituary of Patricia Annette Curbishley
It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Annette Curbishley announce her peaceful passing on March 18, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice with her family by her side. Born February 17, 1942, to the late Walter and Helen Holmes. Patricia will be profoundly missed by her children Tony (Susan), Susan (late Jim), Jamie (Darren), John (Priscilla), and Will (Caitlyn), her grandchildren Tyler, Libby and Xavier; her siblings Margaret (Mac), Joe (Ann), Agnes, Jean (Terry) as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Patricia will be reunited with her husband, Herbert Curbishley, her daughter, Christine Curbishley, her siblings, Mary Hitchcock and Tom Holmes; and her niece, Melissa McKeon.
Patricia loved animals, especially her dogs, the last of which was Fargo. In her younger years, she was an avid speed skater and loved swimming. She also enjoyed hunting and spending time with her family. Patricia loved to read and could be found at any time with numerous books on the go. Patricia had different jobs over the years, the last of which was at Canada Post. She was also a volunteer with Saint John Ambulance for many years.
For those who had the pleasure of ever crossing paths with Patricia, they are better for it. Her easy laugh and genuine smile would brighten everyone’s days.
Her witty sense of humor was one that she never lost throughout everything. She was always the first to lend a helping hand or encouraging word and would accept everyone as they were with open arms, understanding and a heart full of love.
Patricia was a lady of great respect having many people who admired her with even more who loved her dearly. She will be missed and forever loved by all of those who knew her.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM, with a funeral liturgy beginning at noon, all from Brenan’s Funeral Home.
