Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Bruce Dowd
It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony “Tony” Bruce Dowd of Saint John announce his untimely passing which occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home. Born on March 12, 1981 in Saint John, he was the son of Bruce Joseph Dowd and the late Dianne Margaret Mary (Peters) Dowd.
In addition to his father, Bruce, Tony is survived by his sister, Melanie Dowd-Martell (Derek) and his niece, Garielle “Gabby” Martell, who he loved spending time with. He is also survived by his aunts, Maureen Keenan (Mike), Cindy McKenna (Tom) and Brenda McDermott (Carl); uncle, Terry Dowd (Rosella) and Wallace (Jackie) Peters; as well as many cousins. Tony was loved by all and will always be in the hearts of his family and friends.
Tony worked alongside his family and was actively involved in their long-standing business, Dowd Roofing. His hobbies were working on antique cars, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and going to antique car shows with his best friend...his father and kindergarten friend, Matt. Tony had a soft heart for his family, friends and animals alike. Over the years, he often brought home many strays.
Tony is now resting peacefully with his mother.
