Obituary of Maxine Isobel Cooper

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Maxine Isobel (Woods) Cooper, wife of the late Kenneth Cooper, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 5, 2025.  Born on September 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Woods.

Maxine will be missed by her four children, daughters, Debbie Copp (Kenny), Donna Campbell and Brenda Golding (Kevin) and son, Paul Cooper (Andrea); grandchildren, Melissa Moore, Nick and Chad Golding, Meaghan Yeomans, David Copp, Kenda and Sean Cooper and Ryan McKay; along with 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Winona Quigg (Art); sisters-in-law, Bertie Woods and Margaret Corbett and brother-in-law, John Cooper.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers, Murray and Donald, sister, Dorothy McKinney and son-in-law, Bobby Campbell.

Maxine was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother and community member who was able to stay in her beloved home in Welsford until her death at the age of 94.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM.  Interment will take place in Welsford Valley Cemetery.
