Obituary of Rose Marie Hallett
With heavy hearts, the family of Rose Hallett announce her passing, which occurred on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. Born October 13, 1957, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Edith (Dickison) Verner.
Rose enjoyed playing darts and sitting in the sun in the summer, but her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always made sure there was a special treat for them in her grocery order and spending time with them made her the happiest.
Rose is survived by her life-partner, John Nelson; daughters, Michelle Shaffer (Roy) and Dawn Hallett; grandchildren: Ashley (Gaby), Amber (Geoff), Austin (Tara), and Aubrey; great-grandchildren: Avery, Pucyrus, Octavia, Nova, Lincoln, and Hunter; and sisters: Marilyn Verner (Bobby), Debbie Scopie (Rick), Darlene Verner, and Kim Verner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her brothers, Kevin and Mickey, and many aunts and uncles.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), where visitation will take place on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2 pm in Brenan’s Chapel.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
