To Diane, Jennifer and Jacqueline (twins, like me - and like my sisters, also twins, Jeannette and Jeannine) - my sincerest thoughts and prayers at this time of your tremendous loss.
I of course, as a bit of a musician myself, knew Edmund through Saint John's music scene - but also knew him through my McDermott cousins - since Ernestine (Paulin) McDermott, his aunt by marriage -through George- originally from Lamèque, was my father Gilbert's first cousin.
What a fine man - and what a glorious singer.
The Saint John community - especially those of Irish descent - will deeply miss him.
God bless, Father Stan

Diane; Barb & I were so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. Our sincerest condolences to you, Jennifer, Jacqueline and to all the family at this difficult and most sensitive time. I have so many wonderful memories of Ed & I singing along side each other in the Friends of Music and the Men & Music. We had such great times singing and entertaining so many. We had such wonderful after parties and get togethers with our spouses, which of course always found ourselves singing. I will always remember Ed's gentle smile and soft gentle voice which always shone through in every performance he gave, always with such passion and conviction. He was a true performer with a wonderful gift he loved to share. It was truly an honour to sing along side him.We will all miss him dearly, but I know he is already singing his heart out in heaven.

Diane: Bob and I are sorry to read of
Edmund's passing. I recall it was about 50 years ago he had what I think was heart surgery, he has certainly been able to enjoy these past 50 years he was given at that time. You both always looked so happy. We will be at our home in Maine for the holiday and will be unable to attend eitherthe wake or Mass, however, our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Dear Diane and family, we are saddened to hear about the passing of your dear husband and father. While the miles kept us apart, I always enjoyed seeing pictures of Edmund singing his heart out whether at church, an Irish gathering or in a choir. So, the “leader of the McDermott clan” has passed on the torch and joined the heavenly choir with all those talented McDermotts who predeceased him. In this time of sorrow, you can take solace in knowing Edmund gave others much joy with his infectious smile and wonderful voice. May he Rest in Peace.
