Obituary of Herbert Joseph Kenney
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father Herbert Joseph Kenney. Which occurred on Thursday April 17, 2025, at the Loch Lomond Villa (Elm House) surrounded by his loving family. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on December 30, 1928. He was the son of the late Joseph and Evangeline (DeViller) Kenney.
He is predeceased by his wife Ethel Mae Abric and his son Gerald Louis Kenney. Herb was the last surviving family member of 8 siblings.
Herb is survived by his four children Herbert (Darlene) Kenney, Sharon (Murray) Stymiest, Beverly (Mark) Ellis and Phillip (Larry) Mason and daughter In-law Muriel Lindsay.
5 grandchildren Tanja (Jason) Payne, Tina (Jake) Hickman, Geoffrey Kenney, Pamela (Ben) Mills and Angela (Jeffery) Hamilton. 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and one due in June. Several nieces, and nephews.
Herb was a skilled finished carpenter with over 55 years of experience, and his versatility earned him a reputation as a go-to problem solver. He cherished moments spent with loved ones, whether singing and playing guitar at old-fashioned kitchen parties or sharing vivid stories from his life experiences and he also enjoyed RV travelling. Herb will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Loch Lomond Villa (Elm House) for their kind and loving care of our father. He truly felt the love by you all.
