Obituary of Diane Kearney

It is with great sadness that the family of Susan “Diane” (Stoddard) Kearney announces her passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, April 18, 2025. Diane was born on January 19, 1943, in Bath, NB, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Glenna (Burlock) Stoddard.

Diane was a strong and resilient woman who left her small hometown at a young age. She worked hard and raised her three wonderful children in Saint John. However, she always found great joy in her visits back home to Juniper to spend quality time with family. Her roots always remained close to her heart.

She had a rewarding career working at Commercial Equipment and later at Comcare. Above all, Diane’s greatest joy came from her role as “Mimi.” Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a constant, loving presence in theirs. She found purpose, pride, and immeasurable happiness in their company, and they adored her deeply in return.

Diane is survived by her children, Kenneth “Jeff” (Erin), Catherine, and Ronald (Jillian); grandchildren Eden, Kole, Matthew, and Madison; sister Jennie (Robert); sister-in-law Betty; and many treasured nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, and her siblings Florence, Ronald, Allison, Clarence, Robert, Dean, and Lewis.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A private family interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Diane may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or Hestia House.
