Obituary of Stephen Marshall French

Stephen Marshall French passed away on April 20, 2025, in Langley, BC, at the age of 65. Born on March 14, 1960, in Saint John, NB, Stephen spent his early years in the Maritimes before relocating to British Columbia later in life.

Stephen’s path through life was not without struggles, and though distance and time created space between him and many of his loved ones, his story remains part of a larger family legacy.

He is survived by his mother, Velma Louise MacDonald (nee Chestnut) of Chilliwack, BC; his son, Stephen Giguere-Moore (Maxime), and daughters: Brandis Moran (Christopher), Christina Bonney (Dan), and Micayla Merrithew (Samuel), all of Hampton, NB; siblings: Kendall French (Susan) of Hampton, NB, Darryl Green (Judy) of Lower Sackville, NS, Darren French of Quispamsis, NB, Kelly St. Coeur (Reginald) of Cultus Lake, BC and Patricia "Trish" Smith (Jeff) of Riverview, NB; step-mother, Elizabeth “Liz” French of Quispamsis, NB; nieces: Rebecca Betts (Chad Matheson) of Chilliwack, BC, Tanya Malonzo (Gerardo) of Surrey, BC, and Sarah Lowes (Brandon) of Calgary, AB—as well as several grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Stephen was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Whitfield French; and step-father, Walter Apostoliuk of Surrey, BC.

At this time, there will be no formal service. The family appreciates all the kind thoughts and support as they reflect on Stephen’s life and legacy.
