Obituary of Tanya Hamilton
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tanya (Buckley) Hamilton, which occurred on April 29, 2025, at the SJRH. Mom was born on Jan 25, 1939, to parents Dorothy (Dot) O’Keefe and Placid (Pat) Hebert.
She is survived by her three children, Beth Fox (Garry), Heather Newman (Stephen), Kevin Buckley (Lori); two stepchildren, Brian Hamilton (Mariette), Randy Hamilton (Mary Jane); four grandchildren, Ben Fox, Hilary Newman-Loveless (Brandon), Shannon Fox (Jarred O’Sullivan) and Allie Burgess (Dieter); and by three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Burgess, Harper Loveless and Callum Fox. Tanya was pre-deceased by her parents; her brother, Terry Hebert; husband, Jack Buckley (1998); and husband, George Hamilton (2023).
Over the years mom enjoyed the friendship of many cherished family and friends. In particular her cousin, Mary Lou McCausland and sister-in-law, Judy Briggs.
Some of her best times were with family at the cottage at Buckley’s Cove where we all enjoyed spirited card games.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought a twinkle to her eyes right up to her last days.
Mom was a retired employee of UNBSJ, Ward Chipman Library.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 4:30 – 7:30 PM.
