Obituary of Carl Hector Francis Cormier
CORMIER, CARL HECTOR FRANCIS, age 63, passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, May 6th, 2025. He was born and raised in Saint John, son of the late Hector J. Cormier and Mildred (Hodgin) Cormier.
He is survived by his daughter, Celia (Jonathan) of Saint John and three cherished grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter and Harvey Ayles. Not to leave out his pets, Dixie (dog), Cat and chickens and one pesky rooster.
Carl was a musician, carpenter, mechanic, artist and outdoor enthusiast. Mastering the fiddle among other instruments, he particularly enjoyed participating in jam sessions with fellow musicians.
He found joy in all outdoor activities, this led to his decision to move to Gagetown to be closer to the water and woods he loved. Spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and hiking finding comfort and peace in the country.
A small intimate burial session will be held, surrounded by loved ones, to celebrate Carl’s life and legacy.
Fisherman’s Prayer:
“I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.”
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Graveside Service will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Donations in memory of Carl may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA.
