Obituary of Douglas Philip Damon
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Damon, our devoted father and grandfather who passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 88.
Doug was a man whose life was centered around love — especially the love he had for his family. He was a steadfast and caring father who led by example and supported his loved ones with quiet strength and compassion. His wisdom, sense of humor, and unwavering presence touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved children: Terry Lee Vringer (Dennis), Michael Damon (Krista Grant), and Tammy Fifield (John). He was the proud grandfather of Sarah and Jack Fifield, and Erin Vringer, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride. Doug cherished every moment with his grandchildren, whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying time together.
He was predeceased by his wife and loving partner, Theresa, in 2001. Together they enjoyed raising their children and had many adventures travelling to support their children’s
extracurricular activities. Later in life they made an annual trip to Florida to watch the baseball spring training games.
A passionate sports fan, Doug followed the New York Yankees and New York Rangers with lifelong loyalty. Win or lose, he stood by his teams, enjoying every season, every game, and every chance to cheer. His love of sports was more than a pastime — it was a way of connecting, celebrating, and making memories with those he loved.
Doug will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and his ability to make people feel welcome and valued. Whether through a quiet conversation, a perfectly timed joke, or
watching a game side by side, his warmth and sincerity left a lasting impression.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A family service will be held to honor Doug’s life, with a celebration to follow at a later date. Details will be shared with family and close friends.
Rest in peace, Dad. Your legacy lives on in the family you loved so deeply and the countless lives you touched. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
