Obituary of Gordon Lee Dickison
It is with immense heartache that the family of Gordon Lee Dickison announce his untimely passing in his 53rd year of life on May 15, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family. Born September 8, 1971, in Summerside, PE, to the late Joseph Stanley and Vivian Joye (Beaumont) Dickison.
Gordon will be profoundly missed by his wife Melanie Dickison, daughters Chelsea Dickison (Stephen Crabbe) and Gabrielle Dickison, and sisters Karen Dickison (Bruce Getson), Donna (James) Anderson, and Debra (Robert) Buckley. Besides his parents, he will be lovingly reunited with his brother Glenn Dickison.
Gordon’s true calling was to help those in need. He worked 19 years with addiction and mental health consumers at the Salvation Army before moving to Shannex and finalizing his career with Centenary Queen Square Care Centres. Evenings and weekends found him mentoring the youth of the Canadian Cadet Organization as a Civilian Instructor.
Gordon was a practical joker by nature, often telling jokes or playing pranks on those he loved most.
There are far too many people to thank as it has truly taken a community to care for Gordon. The family extends a special thanks to the IV Day Clinic at the SJRH, SJRH Admitting duo, Linda and Carol who always treated him like a king, Dr. Mackin, Dr. Love, Dr. Hemmings, Dr. Carpentier, Dr. Comeau and Dr. Kristofferson. We’d also like to thank Bobby's Hospice staff and volunteers as well as his nurses from Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Jen and Craig.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Visitation will be held at Brenan’s on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Tuesday’s visitation at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church (360 Dufferin Row, Saint John) beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension.
