Obituary of Gertrude Arline Winters
It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude “Arline” (Webster) Winters announces her passing which occurred from Turnbull Nursing Home on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Born in Saint John, NB, on July 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Olive (Neal) Webster.
Arline spent her early years working at the Saint John General Hospital before transferring to the Saint John Regional Hospital where she became head of the X-Ray Department.
She leaves cherished memories of RV adventures across the Maritimes with her husband and their beloved dog, Beauty. A passionate Saint John Sea Dogs fan, she loved gathering with friends to play guitar and sing together.
Arline leaves behind her cousins, Richard Webster, Donald Webster, Duncan Webster, Lorne Webster. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Max" Winters.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Turnbull Nursing Home for their compassionate care for Arline.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Funeral Service will be held from The Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations in memory of Arline may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
