Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" Joseph LeBlanc

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Joseph LeBlanc, which occurred peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  He was 81 years old.  Born on March 26, 1944 in Minto, NB, he was the son of the late Jaddus LeBlanc and the late Bella (Pitre) LeBlanc.

Jerry was a Red Seal Carpenter and worked in construction most of his life, until hanging up his hammer to embark on a new adventure of Building Inspections post-retirement.

Jerry was an athlete and sports fan.  He played hockey, baseball, Slo-Pitch, and even some racquetball.  He started playing tennis in his 60s, and would happily tell you that he could still “run circles around the young guys” when he was well into his 70s.  He was also a talented musician!  Jerry spent many years singing and playing his guitar around the campfire with his family, and in later years led the whole family in many karaoke performances.

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Tammy (Ross) Fravel, his son Bruce (Debbie) LeBlanc, his grandson Jeff Guitard (RD Cummings) and step-grandchildren Joe Collins (Michelle Levesque), Odessa (Jason) Smith, Ryan Fravel and Dylan Fravel.  Jerry is also survived by his siblings Eloi G. (Aurelia) LeBlanc of Ontario, Louis (Sheila) LeBlanc of Saint John, Marie (Bob) Betts of Riverview and Eric LeBlanc of Riverview.  Jerry will be fondly remembered by his former wife and her husband, Sandra (Thibodeau) and Bill Springer, with whom he had become friends in recent years.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his brothers Emile LeBlanc, Richard (Dick) LeBlanc, Maurice LeBlanc and sisters Laurie Findlay and Anna Dineen.

Special mention to Dad’s favourite grand-dog Diesel who will be waiting for him to go on eternal walks!

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM with a funeral liturgy beginning at 2:00 PM in Brenan’s Chapel.  A reception will follow the service in Brenan’s Reception Centre.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
