I was saddened to hear of Toby's death....
Many memories of her kindness, generosity, conversations about art; at home and in her grand studio across the hall. Her glamour! ... I recall the 2 of us wandering around Merida in identical wraparound unbleached cotton garments (purchased on the street) until our lost bags arrived in time for The Mexico Show. So fashionable!
.... how pleasant to share her excellent meals; Toby and I would talk art, Jack and Weldon reminisced about the old days in Montreal radio - Jack's dad knew him as an announcer.
.... Her art lives on. A testament to her dedication and determination to keep on working, to share her commitment to exploration, to the expression of her creative spirit.
Thank you Toby.

She lived a remarkable life.. just look at the variety of experiences and accomplishments, …. She made us all proud. To this day one of her paintings graces the walls of our dining room and the book that was published for one of her shows we would show to visitors for years. “Hey… check out my auntie Toby”… One of those career women who have done just about everything and “has it all”. Then when you would spend time with her, totally down to earth, No pretentions, funny, light-hearted. .We’ll miss her
Our condoleances to all the family

Dear Graser family, I was saddened to learn of Toby's passing. An incredible, vibrant woman, she was a talent and an asset to our Jewish community.
Mom (Amelia) & I attended one of her art exhibitions at the SJ Museum. I bought a very large painting which Toby hesitated to sell me: " Judi, it's so dark, are you sure? I painted it when my Dad died.." My condolences, Dina & Geoff.

Dear Dina, Geoff, and families,
I was so saddened to learn of your mom’s passing. She was an amazing woman, with accomplishments most of us can only dream of, and she and your dad managed to raise two pretty great kids as well! As you know, she and my mom were very dear friends, despite their age difference, and I have fond memories of Toby popping over to our place at 5 o’clock for happy hour. I still have one of her paintings that my parents proudly displayed and passed on to me, and I will always treasure it. May your wonderful memories of your mom comfort you during these very difficult times, and may her memory be a blessing.

Dear Dina and family,
My friend Toby was a warm and brilliant woman, a wonderful artist, and a joy to know. We met at an Emma Lake Workshop in the 80's, became fast friends, exchanged visits (and art works) and, living in two different provinces, did our best to keep in touch. Toby was my chosen cottage mate for two of the seven Sheffield Lake Workshops I organized in the 90's and wherever we were, we always had great fun together. She enriched my life and her absence is felt.
Lots of love,
Milly Ristvedt

Dear Dina, Goeff and families,
I have so many great memories of your parents from our Christmas Eve parties growing up. I was in awe of your mother's talent and am looking at one of her paintings as I write this. The weekend before my father passed away, Toby and Weldon came to visit and I remember their laughter from the den. I have heard countless stories from my parents over the years and know how much they valued their friendship with your mother and father. Your obituary captured Toby's formidable spirit and I am hopeful that all of your memories will help you through this difficult time. Sending you lots of love.

To the family of Toby Graser.
I was saddened to learn that Toby would no longer be with us. She was an extraordinary person in many ways, and a wonderful artist. On more than one occasion we had our studios on the same floor; once opposite mine. Her presence will be much missed
on the arts scene in Saint John.
I offer you my deepest sympathy.

Heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Toby’s family and friends. I was fortunate to know her and feature her abstract paintings at the Saint John Arts Centre during my term as Cultural Affairs Officer with the City. I recall how genuinely pleased she was on the way her solo exhibition had been displayed. I always enjoyed our conversations and meeting her and her husband, Weldon, at various visual arts events. Her many gifts and talents in the field of the visual arts is a her legacy to New Brunswick. Thank you, Toby. My caring thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time and as they reflect on her life and many contributions.
Most sincerely.

Lots of love to all whose lives hers touched, and from the beautiful obit, it sounds like there were many.
I’m glad I got to meet Toby in Montreal on one of her visits to see Dina while we were at McGill. We had coffee in a salon on Monkland Avenue, and she took one look at my thick, curly red hair, and said “wasted on a man.” :-)
She had a way of looking down her nose at you with love. Godspeed and well played, Toby. You made your mark.

Dear Dina, Geoff and families,
Toby will forever live in my heart. She was my second Mom, whether cheering me on or giving me sh*t!! I will always associate our lives in Fredericton with all the Grasers. Her love and kindess and fierce friendship were always treasured. I know we will all mourn her and miss her. And I know that her memory will truly be a blessing. And like you said yesterday we can imagine Weldon, Reta and Sidney welcoming Toby to the Bridge Table with bridge mixture or one of her homemade beyond delicious bubkas! We are sending you all big love and tight hugs during this very sad time, and always. Beverly and Eli
