It is with great sadness and an appreciation of a life well lived the family of Frank Ellsworth Robinson, of Saint John, New Brunswick, announces his passing on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Born in Elgin, New Brunswick, on July 14, 1921, Frank was a son to George Ellsworth Robinson and Dora May Robinson (Martin). Frank is survived by his special friend, Jennie Mitchell, of Saint John, New Brunswick, his daughter, Judy (Olivier) Breau of Oromocto, New Brunswick, his step-daughters, Linda Sutton and Barbara Kliffer of Saint John, his step-son, Terry (Beth) Gould, of Scarborough, Ontario, his grandchildren; Colin, Troy and Adam Robinson, Kerri (Stephen) Cook and Stephen Watson, his step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian Alward, his second wife, Aleta Claire, his sons, Stephen Robinson in 1971, Howard Robinson in 2015, two brothers and his sister.
Frank was a proud alumnus of Mount Allison University, where he not only excelled academically but also built lasting relationships that would remain a central part of his life. During the Second World War, Frank bravely served as a Sergeant, contributing to the war effort with a sense of duty and resilience that earned him respect among his peers. His experiences during the war shaped his character, and the discipline and camaraderie he gained in service carried through to all areas of his life. Beyond his military service, Frank was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Masonic Temple in Saint John, where he participated in a variety of social and charitable activities, forming close bonds with fellow members. His commitment to helping others also extended to his time as a volunteer with the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, where he dedicated hours visiting heart surgery patients, offering support and encouragement to those recovering from their surgeries. Frank's love for the outdoors and nature was evident in his membership with the Hampton Fishing Club, where he enjoyed spending time in the company of friends and fellow anglers. Whether it was early morning trips to the river or relaxed evenings at the club, Frank cherished the serenity the club provided. In addition to his deep involvement in local community activities, Frank was an avid traveler. His sense of adventure led him on many journeys, both near and far, where he sought new experiences, cultures, and perspectives. He always returned from his travels with fascinating stories to share, and his enthusiasm for the world around him was contagious. These adventures were not just about sightseeing—they were about embracing life to the fullest and connecting with people across the globe. Through his work, volunteerism, and passions, Frank’s life was a testament to service, friendship, and an insatiable curiosity about the world.
Frank’s family would like to thank all who helped make his final days more pleasant for him.
