Obituary of Josiane Marie Donalda Hewitt

It is with great sadness that the family of Josiane Marie Donalda (Richard) Hewitt announces her passing which occurred at the George Dumont Hospital on Monday, June 30, 2025. Born in Montréal, Québec on August 22, 1964, she was a daughter of Léo-Paul and Germaine (Caissie) Richard.

Josiane graduated from Université de Moncton before going on to spend the next 38 years at WorkSafe NB.  She loved art, history and loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Josiane leaves behind her two children, Danielle Hewitt and Alex Hewitt (Jillian Dennison); siblings, Stephan Richard (Marthe), Ginette Amand (Stéphane), Chantal Richard (Paul); grandchildren, Quentin Dennison and Kailer Hewitt; nieces, Gabrielle Amand, Sophie Amand, Véronique Richard, Stephanie Thibodeau; nephews, Christian Richard and Mathieu Thibodeau.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 12:10 PM. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Josiane may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
