Prior to his failing health, George was employed as a taxi driver and dispatcher with various taxi firms throughout the city.  This was a career he truly enjoyed and where many friendships were made.  He will always be fondly remembered for his humour and jokester ways.  George enjoyed a good game of darts, fishing, camping and watching hockey.  He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Marianne, George will also be lovingly remembered by his children, Rebecca Mason (Joseph), Tania Clark (Barry), Trisha Kirkpatrick (Steven), Richard Kirkpatrick and Matthew Kirkpatrick (Christine) all of Saint John; step-children, Renee “Nikki” O’Hara, Bonnie Savoie, Peter Savoie and Paul Savoie; special granddaughters, Morgan and Katelyn and several other grandchildren; special great-grandson son, Gabryl and great-granddaughter, Savannah; several other great-grandchildren; brother, Mark Mason (Jen) of Lepreau, sisters, Dorothy Mason (Clyde) of Pocologan, Marlene Bungay (Alphonsus) of Saint John and Daisy Mason of Saint John; half-brothers, Jason Mason (Jeanette), Jarret Mason (Tara) and Jamie Mason all of Saint John; half-sister, Jessica Mason (Shane) of Saint John; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Besides his mother, he was also predeceased by his step-father, Edward McLellan; granddaughter, Ashley Richards; sister, Lynn Mason and a sister in infancy.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 12:00 PM.  Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
