Obituary of Audrey Jane Howe
With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Audrey J. Howe, loving partner of John S. Wilson, announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Loch Lomond Village. Born in Lakewood, NB on August 2, 1925, she was a daughter of the late William and Daisy (Stratton) Douglas.
Audrey was a fun-loving, social woman who loved to sing, dance and play the accordion. The light of her life was her soulmate, John. Together, they enjoyed the simple things in life like listening to the CBC Morning show, having long conversations, and quietly being in one another’s presence and company. Audrey was a veteran of WWII serving in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service and later worked for Irving Oil as an accounts manager.
In addition to her partner and best friend, John Wilson, Audrey will be missed by her nieces and nephews: Aurona Daley, Robert "Bobby" Douglas, Elizabeth Lawton, Carol Morrell, Mary Kay Ward, Michael Douglas, Lynn Douglas, Barbara Mitchell, Jeff Douglas and Stacey Hanninen; as well as many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her siblings: George, William and Lloyd Douglas and Florence Ross.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private celebration of Audrey’s life will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 12:00 pm in Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
