Obituary of Kathleen Mary Hooper
It with heavy hearts that the family of Kathleen (Kaye) Hooper, beloved wife of the late Vernon Harold Hooper, announce her peaceful passing which occurred on March 14, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on December 13, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine E. (Carroll) Shannon.
Kaye worked in the Accounting office of the Sears Department Store chain serving loyally for twenty-five years. Kaye was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s parish as well as the C.W.L. She loved to skate, travel, and had a passion for board games and playing cards. One only had to enter a room and know that Kaye was there because of her infectious laugh! She will be missed by all who knew her.
Kaye will be lovingly remembered by her sisters: Vivien Anderson (the late James) of Rothesay and Constance (Connie) Heenan (the late John) of Saint John; nephews: Rob Anderson (Lucille) of Kamloops, Bruce Anderson of Digby, Kevin Heenan (Linda) of Halifax, Jerry Dunn (Debbie) of Quispamsis and Larry Hooper of Charlottetown; nieces: Heather Anderson (Harvey Nelson) and Kerien Ferris (John) both of Calgary, Brenda Major (Scott) and Gail Rocca (John) both of Saint John, Colleen Heenan (Larry Steele) and Donna Richards both of Halifax, Sharon Wilson (the late Ronnie) of Rexton, Jean Osborne-Shea (Bill) of Quispamsis, Karen Praught (Bernie) of Souris and Kathy Leary of Whitehorse. Kay will be especially missed by her special friends Willa, Faye and Glenna as well as all the ladies at 95 Douglas.
In addition to her husband and parents, Kaye was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Lila Richards, Florence Hooper and Jean Dunn; brothers-in-law Ern Richards and Keith Hooper; niece, Barbara (Dunn) Craig and nephews Jackie Dunn and Tom Osborne.
