Obituary of Joseph Donald Joachim Caissie
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Donald "Don" Caissie announces his passing, which occurred on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, N.B. on November 14, 1948, he was a son of the late Ovila and Clairilda (Rouselle) Caissie.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Deborah (McEwen) Caissie; sons Donald (Krista) and Adam (Lisa) Caissie; daughter Marlene (Jason) Dewar; grandchildren Liam, Curtis, Charlee, Sadie, and Leia; brother Edgar (Kazumi) Caissie; sisters Andrea Debow, Norma (Rheal) Carrier, Aurella Doiron, and Melinda (Larry) Cook; brother-in-law Bill Debow; mother-in-law Dorothy McEwen.
Aside from his parents, Don is predeceased by his sister Brenda Martin; daughter-in-law Meghan (O’Dell) Caissie; sister-in-laws Betty Cameron, Joan Greenslade, and Marion McEwen; brother-in-law Paul Doiron.
Don worked for Canada Post and retired after 36 years of service. He was a proud union activist and member of the Adanac Club.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius X Church on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Don’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.BrenansFH.com.
