I am so sad to hear of Dave's passing. He was always so kind to me and my children. I remember years ago...when I was in my 20's... being at a party and ending up at Tim Hortons. Dave showed up there and drove us home....because he knew us and wanted to make sure we got home safe...and he was in his police car. He was that kind of person. My children loved going to his place...to his little farm. I remember all the tractor rides Dave took all the neighbourhood kids on....and he made sure he went around enough times so everyone had a turn. I messaged my children about Dave's passing and right away they had wonderful stories about him. I am so sorry for you loss.

My sincere condolences to you Leta and your family for your loss of Dave. I remember him from the SJPF. Dave and I spent a fair amount of time working together in ARU while I was expecting my first child, as well as, playing cards at lunch time with the gang; there were a lot of laughs shared there!! My daughter works as a life guard at the CGAC and came to know Dave she will miss his friendly conversations in the mornings. He also helped locate my first horse trailer by getting me in touch with the right person. May he rest in peace. Until we meet again Dave.

I don't think there could be enough words to depict the impact Dave had on my life as a youth; the farm was a resting place for an escape and also enjoyment of being productive during a hard childhood. I loved the tractor rides, the trips to Tim Hortons in the back of his truck with rabbits or ducks, watching the birds waddle to the pond, and collecting eggs. I think my favorite part of practically every day being there for several summers was getting to see him come to the door after knocking. My friends and I loved going there and we felt like we were a family of our own. In many ways, Dave and his wife left such an impact on me I hope to make him proud when I finish my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology to help others feel good about themselves. Thanks Dave, we will go for coffee when I get to the other side.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have thought of you often over the years and always hoped I would see all of you again. I bump into Shyanne every now and then, in a hockey rink usually, which is lovely but we never did get caught up since we were both usually going in opposite directions. I didn't realize Dave was ill. Had I known I would have dropped in to see him and you, Leta. The two of you made a difference in my life that I am sure you don't realize. I have kept you in my thoughts all these years and will make a point of coming to visit you once things have settled a bit for you. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences on your loss. I was (and still am) one of the early morning Aquatic Centre locker room crowd, and enjoyed so much of the banter that took place there - I have missed David's presence over the past number of months. I also have a fond memory of the time when I was kayaking with a friend on the Kennebecasis River a few years ago - it was a rough day and my friend capsized - too rough for me to assist so I beat it to shore to find help. David and family were boating that day and came to my friend's assistance, to my great relief.

Our most sincere condolences to Daves family on his passing. Dave and I go way back to the late 1960s and early 70s when we all hung around and traveled together to drag races at Pennfield and pestered the girls at the A & W Restaurant. Ann Marie remembers Dave fondly when she worked at SJPD for Chief Harry McKay. We were quite the group of jocks at the time tearing up the town in our hot cars. He was a great guy and someone we remember fondly even after all these gone by. Your suffering on earth is now over Dave and may you Rest In Peace.

Words cannot express our sadness first with Dave's illness and now his passing. Forty years of friendship brought so many memories from the early years of living on Greenwood Street and sharing our Christmases and summer BBQs together to the more recent years when we visited and shared stories of our grown children and young grand-children. Every time we look at the cheese board or the TV caddy Dave made for us, we will remember him and all the good times we shared. Leta, Please continue to visit us in Moncton and keep in touch. And give our best to Larry & the rest of the family. Linda & Havelock
