Obituary of Ronald Perry Black
The death of Ronald Perry Black, of St. Martins, husband of L. Beverley (Bev) (Jury) Black, occurred unexpectedly on Friday, January 4, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Martins, he was the son of the late Winston and Daisie (Perry) Black. Mr. Black owned and operated Black's Auto Repair in St. Martins. He was a member of the Reserves during the Korean War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #63, St. Martins. Ron was a avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed having his friends come to the house to listen to fiddle music. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, David Black (Joanne) of Font Hill, ON, Judith Rucchetto (Frank) of Toronto, ON and Carol Last (Wilfred) of Saint John, their mother, Rita (Bridges) MacDougall, step-daughter, Shelby Barker of St. Catherine's, ON, one sister, Kathryn Bradshaw of St. Martins, eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Ann Dunlop. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at 1:00 PM. Interment in St. Martins Community Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service on Monday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
