Obituary of Harold Arnold Bannister
After a courageous battle with cancer, the death occurred peacefully at home of Harold Arnold Bannister, age 67 years, on Monday, September 23, 2002. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Arnold C. Bannister and the late Marion (Naves) (Bannister) Carr. Lovingly remembered by his wife, of 38 years, Helen T. (Robertson) Bannister, children, Lisa Savidant (Mark) of Hampton, Andrea Moran (James) of St. Martins and James Bannister (Brandy) of Saint John, brothers, John Bannister (Joan) of Ottawa, ON, Willard Carr (Elaine) of Keswick Ridge and Jackie Carr (Dawn) of Saint John, sisters, Alice Bannister of Saint John, Arna Todd (Paul) of Vancouver, BC, Marion Clarke of Saint John, Marjorie Martin (Gerald) of Saint John and Elaine Skov-Neilson (Kurt) of Rothesay, grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Gregory, Rachael, Samantha, Krisha, Justin-Tye, Mathieu and Marlisa, several nieces and nephews. Harold worked for many years as a Stationary Engineer and later was employed with the Corps. of Commissionaires. He was a member of Glenview United Church and was active in the Monday night card games at the I.O.O.F. Hall. Harold enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Glenview United Church, on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Interment in the Midland Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
