Obituary of Norma Mildred Hachey
While we celebrate a life well lived; we grieve for the passing of Norma Mildred Hachey, loving wife of the late Frank Hachey, which occurred on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born on May 4, 1923 in Devon, NB, she was the only daughter of the late Judson and Mildred (Hoyt) Harris.
Norma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than the presence of her family, whether by phone calls or frequent visits. She also loved her neighbours, with whom she shared a tremendous relationship. Norma was a talented knitter and would often make the grandkids clothing when they were small. While her family was everything to her, Norma took pleasure in her interests; she enjoyed playing BINGO, attended dances, and trying her luck with scratch tickets, she was also a lover of cats. Norma will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Norma will be lovingly remembered by her children: Debra Stevenson, Ingrid Tobias, Jana Hachey (Bill Scoville), Sheena (Douglas) Fairley and Shauna Hachey, her grandchildren: Natasha Tobias (Paul), Khouri Tobias (Jocelyn), Dino and Mario Gatto, Greg McKay, Kurt Hachey, Kara Dibblee (Neal), Jeremy and Ethan Fairley, her great grandchildren: Drake Tobias (Lauren), Khenady Barton, Megan Cooper, Meghan and Justin McKay, Blaine Hachey and Chloe Dibblee, and her dughter-in law Gail Hachey.
Besides her parents and husband Frank, Norma was predeceased by her sons Dwight and Dwayne Hachey and daughter Cheryl Jewett.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, May 2 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Norma’s Life will take place on Thursday, May 3 at 2 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel with interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and online condolences can be placed at www.brenansfh.com
