Obituary of Albert Joseph Arsenault
With heavy hearts, the family of Albert Arsenault, devoted husband to Lorraine (Cormier) Arsenault, announce his unexpected passing on Monday, April 30, 2018 at his residence in Fredericton. Born June 3, 1945 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorca (Barrieau) Arsenault.
Albert and Lorraine moved from Saint John to Fredericton in 1979. He retired from CIBC, where he held various positions over the years. A gifted musician, Albert found joy in travelling to nursing homes around the province with Lorraine to play his guitar while they sang to the residents. He was awarded a Life Membership with the Kinsmen. Albert was meticulous with his landscaping and he always found something to do around the yard or pool. He loved to tell jokes, and was always the life of the party. Most of all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, playing marbles and cards, and taking walks to the store.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Lorraine, Albert will be missed by his children, Shawn (Raelene) and Jodi Nadeau (Chris); grandchildren: Morgan and Rachel Arsenault, and Cade and Cali Nadeau; sister and brothers: Ann Marie Marshall (Buddy), David (Mary), William (Lorraine), and Fred (Peggy); sisters-in-law, Nancy Arsenault and Helen Arsenault; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, John and Edward.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
