Obituary of Clara Leona Perry
It is with great sadness that the family of Clara Leona Perry (Girlie), loving wife of the late Donald Joseph Perry, announces her passing which occurred on May 8, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 15, 1937 in Saint John, she was a daughter to the late Archibald and Helen (Hilden) Leeman.
Girlie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She stayed home to raise her children, and in doing so, perfected her cooking and baking skills. In her spare time, Girlie enjoyed BINGO any way she could play, whether on the TV or an evening out at a Hall. She will be fondly remembered as being a joker and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Girlie will be lovingly remembered by her children: Pamela Rousselle, Kathy Perry (Theresa Doucette), Don (Ann) Perry, Anthony Perry and Gary Perry (Carol Bransfield), her grandchildren; Amanda, Jason, Krystal, Adam, Gerret, Haley, Austin, Chadwick and Channing, great grandchildren; Samantha, Anthony, Clara Rose, Dominic and Parker along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family.
Besides her parents and husband Donald, Girlie was predeceased by her sisters; Mildred, Frances and Donna and brother Sonny.
Girlie’s family would like to express their many "Thanks" to the Doctors, Nurses and staff in Triage, the Emergency Department and 5CN, the compassion and care you have shown, will not be forgotten. And a special "Thanks" to Ralph Johnson for all of his time and efforts.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 10 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 11 at 12:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel with interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
