Obituary of Robert John Doucette
The death of Robert John Doucette of Magazine St., Saint John occurred on October 5, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late George and Bridget (Bryer) Doucette. Robert served in World War II as a gunner in the Army and, following, worked as a Stationary Engineer in Toronto then later as a Commissionaire in Saint John. He was a member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes , the Carleton York Club and the Toronto Branch of the War Amputations of Canada. Robert is survived by stepsons Stirling Hamblin of Vancouver and Shawn (Carla) Greenlaw of Ontario, stepdaughters Belinda (Myles) Bayly of Vancouver, Starla Richard of Sussex, Tammy (Troy) Mazerolle of Saint John and Trudy (Wayne) Baxter of Ontario, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by four brothers Edward, Gerard, Roy and George and four sisters Helen, Mary, Theresa and Frances. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424) with visiting Tuesday, October 8, 2002 from 6-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 pm. By request, a funeral service will not be held. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
