Obituary of Edna Jeanette Carter

The family of Edna Carter, wife of the late Colin Carter, wish to announce her passing on June 1, 2018 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton, NB. Born in Saint John, NB on May 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Marion Bryden. Edna is survived by her children: Terence (Gail), Elaine (Jacques Leclerc), Kimberley (David Keeling), and Cheryl (Doug Anderson); 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and brother, Fred (Olive) Bryden. In addition to her loving husband, Colin Carter and her beloved daughter, Linda (Don Yeo), Edna was predeceased by her siblings Bill Bryden and Dona Powe. Colin and Edna raised their family in Quispamsis. Edna was very active in the Quispamsis United Church, where she was instrumental in starting a "Meals on Wheels" program. They retired to Wickham where they enjoyed many contented years. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506) 634-7424. At Edna’s request there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate a long life well lived. For those who wish, remembrances to the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
