Obituary of Ronald H. McGaghey
The death of Mr. Ronald H. McGaghey of Baxter's Corner, NB, husband of the late Edna (Parlee) McGaghey, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital Wednesday, October 23, 2002. He was the son of Charles and Lillian (Rogers) McGaghey and served with the Carleton York Regiment in World War II. Ronald worked for the Province of NB as a Grader and Snow Plow Operator before retiring from Fenco Ltd. as a cement inspector during construction on the Saint John Harbour Bridge. He is survived by three sons; Charles, at home, Beverly (Louise), Saint John, NB, Brian (Kathy), Rothesay, NB, one daughter; Edith (Brian) Kinsella, Saint John, NB, one brother; Gerald Bartlet, Sussex, NB, sisters; Jean Burnham, Grand Bay-Westfield,NB, Linda Melvin, Sussex, NB, Donna, Penobsquis, NB, as well as five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Loch Lomond Anglican Church. Ronald loved to hunt and fish when he was younger and came to really enjoy Bingo and scratch tickets in his later years. Besides his wife and parents, Ronald is also predeceased by one son, Darren Michael McGaghey, a brother Harold and a sister Evelyn Landry. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, (506-634-7424) with visitation on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. only and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Fernhill Cemetery, Westmorland Rd. Remembrances may be made to Loch Lomond Head Start Program or Loch Lomond Anglican Church.
