Obituary of Olga Marie McCormick
It is with great sadness the family of Olga Marie (MacDonald) McCormick announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Tuesday, June 19th 2018. Olga was the wife of the late John B. McCormick and daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Agnes (MacPhee) MacDonald, formerly of Sydney, NS.
In 1951, Olga graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital school of Nursing in Glace Bay, NS. Olga was a Registered Nurse and provided compassionate care to her patients and took great pride in doing for others. She loved her neighborhood and always welcomed friends and family into her home.
She is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Paul Patterson), Frank (Kim), Michael (Linda), Lorraine (Rob Simonds), Jamie (Lyn) and Karen (Ian Braid); her sisters Adelaide Fitzpatrick, Halifax, NS, and Sr. Eileen MacDonald, Antigonish, NS.
In addition to her husband Olga was predeceased by, sisters Geraldine Gouthro, Patricia Wells Van Daele and her brothers Jack, Paul, Duke, Ronald and Earl.
Olga will also be missed by her grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Branden, Tyler, Cody, Michael, Mark, Laura, Anna, John and Katie.
Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Thursday, June 21 from 3-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Friday, June 22 at 11:00am.
For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Olga may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Cathedral Heritage Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion.
