Obituary of Alfred J. Godin
The death of Mr. Alfred J. Godin, of Saint John, NB, husband of Helen (Russell) Godin, occurred on Sunday, December 8, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Collette, NB, he was the son of the late Alexander and Henriette (Gautreau) Godin. For 29 years, Alfred was employed with Vet's Taxi, from where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Helen, two step-sons, Donald Mason of Saint John, and Douglas Mason of Grand Bay- Westfield, NB, three step-daughters, Joan Ritchie of Hartford, Connecticut, Shirley Lockhart and Lana Dann, both of Saint John, one brother, Harvey Godin of Montreal, PQ, five sisters, Alice Godin of Sherbrooke, PQ, May Perry, Viola Linton, and Flora Morrell, all of Saint John, and Mildred Boyle of Rogersville, one granddaughter, Leesa H. M. Doley, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a step-daughter, Norma Brown, and brothers, Walter, Edmund, and Norman. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 12:00 Noon from St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Field of Honour.
