Obituary of Clara Winnifred Burke
The death of Clara Winnifred Burke, cherished wife of the late James Burke, occurred on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 22, 1932 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late James and Clara (Stockley) Brennan.
Clara was a woman of great faith and was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. She particularly loved teaching Sunday school to the nursery and primary children who adored her. Above all, Clara loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Clara is survived by her children, Tim (Annette), Carol (Carson), Lynn (Kevin), Mary (Jeff) and Tammy (Dan) all of Saint John; sisters, Lydia Jukes (the late Clifford) of Ontario and Grace McCullum (the late Jack) of Saint John; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Clara was also predeceased by her siblings, Larry, Bobby, Jim, Billy, Evelyn, Connie and Mary; and grandson, James.
