Obituary of John Willard Moore
The death of John Willard Moore, formerly of 9 Abbie Place and 958 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, occurred on October 14, 2003, at the Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born in Saint John on August 24, 1907, he was the son of the late John and Mary Moore. Mr. Moore owned and operated a meat and grocery store in Fairville for many years. His main interests were with the activities of the Lancaster Kiwanis Club, where he was a member for 50 years. He attended the Church of the Good Shepherd Anglican Church and he and his family were longtime summer residents of Epworth Park on the Saint John River. He is survived by one son, Richard “Dick” and daughter-in-law Judy, three grandchildren, Heather (Larry) Simmons, Lynn Moore and Brian Moore, two great-grandchildren, Graham and Evan Simmons, all of Toronto, ON and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Georgia Ann (Boone) Moore, one brother and three sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2003, at 2:00 PM, from the Church of the Good Shepherd, Manawagonish Road, Saint John West. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
