Obituary of Margaret L. Maynes
The death of Margaret L. (McGrattan) Maynes occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital, Saint John, N.B. on Tuesday, December 23, 2003. Born in Saint John, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Marshall) McGrattan. Margaret was a life-long resident of this City and was a parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and St. John the Baptist Church. She was employed with the Admiral Beatty Hotel and, for many years, with Roxie's. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Francis (Frank) Maynes and son Barry, as well as sisters Kay, Frances, and twin Mary, brothers Gerald, Arthur and Paul, and special son-in-law Patrick (Pat) McNulty. She is survived by four daughters, Ann McNulty, Saint John, N.B., Joan Maynes, Ottawa, Ontario, Marie Bailey, Toronto, Ontario, Susan (Leonard Northover) Maynes, Pickering, Ontario, two sons, Dr. Douglas (Jane) Maynes, Halifax, N.S., John-David Maynes, Toronto, Ontario. Margaret is also survived by grandchildren Maureen, Elizabeth and Michael Maynes, Kristine Klassen-Johnson, Jeff and David Klassen, Mark Bailey, Kathleen and Sean Maynes-Northover, great-grandson, David Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 12:00 noon, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Saint John or a charity of the donor's choice.
