Obituary of Mary Agnes Johnston
Mary Agnes (Deveau) Johnston, 99 years of age, passed away peacefully, November 17, 2004, surrounded by her family. Born in Brooklyn, Yarmouth County, NS, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Catherine DeVeau. Agnes lived in Saint John, NB, most of her life where she worked as a practical nurse. She moved to Nova Scotia to be cared for by her daughter Sylvia and family in their home. She is survived by sister Evelyn Durepo (Indiana); daughter Sylvia (Richard) Spencer, Wolfville; son Paul, Saint John; granddaughters Connie (Blaine) McNeill, Charlotte Flynn, Angie Spencer, all of Dartmouth; Lori Moody, Vancouver; Jana (Kevin Bennett) Spencer, Kentville; grandsons Ed Johnston, Fred Johnston, Saint John; Jeff Spencer, Alberta; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Johnston in 1977, daughters Agnes Sylvia Johnston, Charlotte Johnston and Katherine Doyle. Agnes' family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Kim Powell and the V.O.N. for their dedicated care. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 20, 2004, at 9:30 AM from St. Pius X Church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances made to a children's charity would be appreciated.
