Obituary of Joseph Vey
The death of Joseph (Joe) Vey husband of Margot C. Vey occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late John and Esther (Foster) Vey. Joe worked for the City of Saint John in the Water and Sewage Department for many years. He was a quiet family man of strong faith who loved to read, work about his property, offer assistance to Veterans and always quick to lend a needed hand, but never wanting the recognition. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Joe is survived by his wife Margot, son Norman McLeod, Ont, daughter Tammy Marr (Allan), Saint John, NB, two brothers, Bruce Vey (Tina), Alberta and Ronald Vey (Kathy), Kingston Peninsula, NB, half brother Kenneth Lane (Muriel), Toronto, Ont., half sister, Hilda Bursey, NL, a very special grand daughter Keri Phinney and grandchildren Sandy and Wendy. He is predeceased by his parents, twin sisters Betty Cook and Dot Thomas, brothers James, Douglas and John Vey, half sister Kay Mann, Edith Dunham, Audrey McCue and Greta Crawford. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visiting will be held on Monday, 2-4, 7-9 PM, with funeral service on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to East Saint John Food Bank in lieu of flowers.
