Obituary of James Morris Ackerley
The death of James Morris Ackerley of Ellerdale Street, Saint John, husband of Jean T. (Campbell) Ackerley, occurred on Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Helen L. (Black) Ackerley. Mr. Ackerley was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in Europe and Nato and was employed with the Canadian Reserves for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 64. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Thomas J. Ackerley of Saint John, two daughters, Susan I. Carr (Dana) of Oromocto and Dawn M. Lirette of Saint John, two stepsons Steven and John Monaghan, one brother, Douglas Ackerley (Andrea) of Bouctouche, NB, one sister, Evelyn Jane Ackerley of Halifax, NS, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Pam Perrin, two brothers, Murray and Richard. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, April 18, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Following cremation, interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service on Monday, April 18, 2005 at 7:00 pm.
