Obituary of Gerald Lawrence Hatfield

The death of Gerald "Jerry" Lawrence Hatfield, of Hampton, NB, husband of Florence (Monzerolle) Hatfield, occurred Sunday, August 14, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Robinson) Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield worked at the Irving Oil Refinery for 34 years before his retirement in 1998. Gerald was a member of the Hampton Golf Club was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Richard L. (Colleen) of Quispamsis, one daughter, Karen D. Purcell (Jeff) of Florenceville, NB, two brothers, Donald (Marg) of Quispamsis and David (Geraldine) of Rothesay, three sisters, Sandra Orr (Jack) of Saint John, Phyllis Lewis (George) of Sudbury, ON and Barbara London (Malcolm) of Saint John, five grandchildren, Brianna, Jake, Amber, Sarah and Kate, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 12:00 Noon. Following cremation, interment will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Cemetery. Remembrances to the Kennebecasis Food Bank or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
