Obituary of Frank Kincaid
1929-2005. The death of Frank Kincaid of Rothesay occurred on May 9th, 2005, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in South Shields, England, he was the son of the late Frank and Adelaide Kincaid. Following his education at the South Shields Marine College, Frank served in the British Merchant Navy as a Deck Officer. After five years at sea he returned to college and studied Naval Architecture. He then worked in naval architecture and shipyard management, in British shipyards. He also worked as a Ship Surveyor with Lloyds Register of Shipping, serving in England and Spain. In 1973 Frank and his family immigrated to Canada where he worked at Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd until his retirement in 1994. His wife Vivienne predeceased him in 1997. He is survived by his son Michael with his wife Elizabeth and their children Rachel, Sarah, and Ryan of Kernersville, North Carolina, and son Philip with his wife Catriona of Vancouver, BC. Also his brother Norman and family of Tynemouth, England, and his dear friend Marilyn Ross of Rothesay. Frank was a Chartered Engineer, a Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects, a Member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club, Probus and St Paul's Church, Rothesay. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home. At Frank's request there shall be no visiting at the funeral home. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at St Paul's Church, Rothesay at 11am on Thursday May 12th, 2005. Following the service a reception will be held at the church. Donations in memory of Frank may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
