Obituary of Joan Marie Dickison
After a courageous battle with cancer Joan Dickison passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 27, 2007. She was born on September 23, 1942 in Saint John to the late Stanley and Edith (Galley) Dickison. Joan was a member of St. Mary’s and St. Bartholomew’s Church and Maple Leaf Glades, a division of the R.A.O.B. Lodge. She is survived by her seven sisters: Edith Verner, Marilyn Lavoie (Marcel), Jackie Verner (Frank), Lois Martin (Don), Carol Getson (Mike), Mary and Barb Dickison (Robert); four brothers: Stan (Rosemary), Robert (Darlene), Gordon and Douglas (Noel) Dickison and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Joan was predeceased by one brother Albert Dickison. She will be missed by all, including her two good friends Irene McAdam and Maureen McIntyre. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. There will be a R.A.O.B. Glades service during visitation on Tuesday at 7 pm. The funeral service will held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 11 am. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
