Obituary of Christian Margaret Porter
Porter, Christian “Margaret” … The death of Margaret Porter of Saint John, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on the April 23, 2007. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Annie (Hulme) McKenzie. For many years she had been employed with the Worker’s Compensation Board of New Brunswick. She was a member of the Church of St. John and St. Clement (Mission Church), Parish of Millidgeville and the order of the Eastern Star Fundy Chapter #34. Margaret is survived by one sister Marion Titus of Sussex Corner, sisters in-law Doris and Angela McKenzie both of Saint John, one niece, Lori (John) Richardson of Saint John, two nephews David Titus of Sussex and Terrance MacKenzie of Saint John, several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers Samuel and John McKenzie, a sister Anita Johnson, two half brothers William and Delbert McKenzie, half sister Mabel Rooney and a nephew Philip Titus. At Margaret’s request there will be no visitation and funeral service. A committal service will be held in Fernhill Cemetery on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 2 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
